Congratulations on beginning a plant strong diet! I have NEVER looked back and I am grateful each day that I grew up with cool folks that were supportive of this lifestyle. I also can't imagine how fat I would be if I still ate cheese!!!! Real cheese that is! It gets easier by the day, as the world is changing so quickly. Now it's probably harder to eat healthy vegan just because there are SO many choices out there. But easier to transition, because there are SO many choices out there.Get Skinny, Go Vegan.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06973914105867913930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089811267849376316.post-30821344321444589942011-04-29T14:12:51.291-07:002011-04-29T14:12:51.291-07:00Thank you, Bethany...yes, I know it is so importan...Thank you, Bethany...yes, I know it is so important to reveal the truth and I knew that it was going to be hard to watch but was truly taken aback...not that I thought it wouldn't affect me, I just thought I would watch it and have a teary (extremely teary) emotional reaction like I did with Food Inc...but holy cow (no pun intended)!! Honestly, the 30 seconds (if that) that it took me to react and hit 'stop' -- as I was freaking out -- reconfirmed to me my decision to go vegan. I hope my blog will inspire family, friends, and beyond...or reassure their choices.Peace Love and Paws Petcarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03078794693382965841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089811267849376316.post-67234762970220024612011-04-29T13:16:27.258-07:002011-04-29T13:16:27.258-07:00Thank you, Suzy! Same idea, maybe fat is best if it's eaten along with its fiber (as in your olives, avocados, etc)... just a theory.. we'll see :-)Skybluepinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14914138537672002345noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089811267849376316.post-32506387321765346942011-03-13T20:17:30.418-07:002011-03-13T20:17:30.418-07:00oh and sbp, there are definitely differences in fa...oh and sbp, there are definitely differences in fats, they are not all created equal...and olive oil isn't a bad choice but I will pass on what I learn. And since we need fats in our diet and I won't be using olive oil now...I'll be sure to eat my share of avocados, olives, and nuts. :)Peace Love and Paws Petcarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03078794693382965841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089811267849376316.post-3603325489613981202011-03-13T19:47:45.231-07:002011-03-13T19:47:45.231-07:00Thanks Sbp, Engine 2 cuts out all extracted oils, ...Thanks Sbp, Engine 2 cuts out all extracted oils, refined sugar, processed foods, all animal products (including fish, dairy & eggs). I have to admit I was surprised, though, to see the popular olive oil on your list of foods to be rid of. I avoid it b/c it's 100% fat, and to me, fat is fat, mono- or omega 3 or not... but wonder if that is the Engine 2 reason... Bon appetit!
